Stanislaus County Chief Deputy District Attorney Birgit Fladager followed by Senior Deputy District Attorney Rick Distaso are surrended by the media while leaving the San Mateo Court House in Redwood City today. Flagader and Distaso successfully prosecuted the case against Scott Peterson.. Jurors today found Scott Peterson guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Laci Peterson, and guilty of second-degree murder in the death of the fetus she carried. The verdict came following a five-month trial that was an endless source of fascination to the tabloids and cable networks.
