Expecting mother Sarah Friar and her husband, David Riley, look at the printed images of their unborn child that was revealed by an 3-D ultrasound at the Prenatal Peek studio in Novato,CA.
Expecting mothers can now have a glimpse of what their developing child might look like by going to private studios that offer 3D ultrasound imagery. Relaxing in recliners, with soft music playing in the background, mothers and their families have a chance to meet their babies and walk out with a video or DVD of their experience as well as color photographs. Unlike the classic 2D ultrasound performed by obstetricians to verify the absence of abnormalities, the 3D ultrasounds have no medical value.
