The "Cage Girls" or cheerleaders during the Gladiator Challenge event at the Colusa Casino on Nov 18, 2004, pose with Ted Williams, the organizer of the event. The Gladiator Challenge is a mixed Martial Arts competition whose popularity is rising in the USA and worldwide. With the spirit of the ancient gladiators, it combines the skills of boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, Ju Jitsu and Judo. Combats are held in a two-ton steel cage surrounded by thousands of screaming fans. Fighters wear little protection and the violence of the punches and kicks makes the combats short and often bloody. Victories are often by knockout.
