File picture taken early in 1975 by MGySgt John Valdez, The Last US Marine In Saigon, of an aerial view of the Combined Recreational Association (CRA) and swimming pool of the US Embassy in Saigon. The grounds contained two separate compounds. One area contained the CRA which consisted of a restaurant and club that catered to luncheons, dinners, entertainment, and swimming. People, including South Vietnamese, not associated with the Embassy could be escorted by embassy employees through a gate located on Hong Thap Tu, and never having access to the Embassy compound. This picture was taken from The Embassy roof in early 1975 and prior to the evacuation.
